NBA Finals Preview And Odds For Basketball Online Betting Fans

This years NBA finals offer great deals for both Dirk Nowitzki and LeBron James, as both franchise players still seek for their first NBA title, making game 1 a blockbuster treat for basketball online betting fans.

The Breakdown

For Lebron, this finals is his best chance to quiet all the critics (especially the Cavs fans who felt betrayed after James left them) and get his first ring. For Dirk, his long awaited rematch after an embarrassing loss in 2006 is right in his doorsteps. It is really imperative for Dirk to come up aggressive this time around, as it would most likely be his final chance.

Both Mavs and Heat have eliminated tough teams during their trip to the finals, with Heat beating their arch nemesis Boston Celtics and the newly revamped squad of NY Knicks while Mavs swept the defending champ LA Lakers and ended OKCs dream of shot to the finals. Both Mavs and Heat also have lost only three times in the playoffs.

I'm pretty confident that we won't be seeing late game collapse like those in other teams and match-ups in the previous round in the playoffs, as both teams are veteran squads, with J. Kidds' leadership and Dirk's clutch performance for the Mavs, and big 3's big shots and defensive stops for the Heat squad.

Mavs won 10 of their past 11 games, and one of the biggest reason for that is Dirk's career performance against the OKC (made 24 of 24 free throw shots). Now, the buzz is about who's going to guard Dirk, and if possible, stop the 7 footer one-hand-one-foot shooter from making and-one plays. Well, I'm a Dallas fan, but I think Miami is not so concerned about Dirk, as they can simply pressure him from the ball or rotate and double-team him from the post. Heat has the younger and more athletic squad, and it won't be that hard for them to solve the Dirk problem. What I want to see from the Mavs is to let its supporting cast step-up for scoring, namely JJ Barea, J. Terry and Peja Stojakovic at the perimeter and Shawn Marion and Stevenson for slashing and Chandler for back-to-basket points, and these are all possible with J. Kidds floor leadership. Dirk is a streaky shooter, and Miami knows that. I expect Bosh to pressure him and D.Wade to come over for double team the moment he makes his move to the paint. But Dirk can score at will, regardless if he's hot or not.

The biggest challenge for Miami right now the rebounding, and we've seen their problem controling the boards in their series against Bulls, as they let Chicago average 14 offensive rebounds per game.

Because unlike Bulls, Dallas have more shooters who will be willing to take long shots after an offensive rebound. For that, I am expecting Mike Miller to be on the much more longer to stretch the defense and Udonis Haslem to contribute with the rebounding.

Heat may have the better first 5, but Dallas certainly have the deeper bench here. Remember how Dallas' bench scored 83 points in their game against the Lakers in the second roud? That was the total output of entire Lakers squad. The longer this series goes, the better for the Mavs. Also, D.Wade will really be banged-up for variety of defenders, and I'm expecting J.Kidd to be in front of him all game long, just like what he did to Kobe in their series.

Caron Butler has a slight chance to play in the finals, and I'm really hoping and praying for that. Though I don't expect for him to play long minutes, the toughness of this guy is enough to push his teammates to their limits.
Chris Bosh will be the X factor for the Heat, and when he's on, he really is a tough nut to crack. But we all know that if he's out, he really is out. So I expect Eric Spoelstra to give the ball to the paint with Bosh and get him going.

But it certainly won't be a walk in the parl for Bosh, at least in the paper, as the twin towers of Mavs (Tyson Chandler and Brendan Haywood) will make him earn for every shot he makes. Mav's X factor will be Shawn Marion. He's the only legitimate player in Mav's squad to guard LeBron James. His length, fast hands and athleticism should be all over LeBron right from the start. Also, Marion should score from offensive rebounds and put-backs to frustrate Miami's defense.

Game 1 odds? I think I'll for for Miami – 190 in the spreadsheets. Heat will host the Mavs in game 1 and Heat is 8-0 at home in the post-season while Dallas is 5-2 on the road. But that's just for game 1 folks.

Things To Watch On Day 9 Of French Open 2011 For Betting Sports Fans

Womens Singles

World number 8 in women's division Maria Sharapova, has no difficulties in beating Taiwanese Chan Yung Jan in the third round of Rolland Garros 2011 who ranked 129 in the world, a match clearly laid out in many sports betting sites. MaSha beats Chan Yung Jan in straight sets impressively, finishing the game with 6-2 a d 6-3 victory and advancing to the 4th round with good condition.

On the other hand, world number 7 Na Li also received her ticket for the 4th round of the tournament after beating Romanian tennis player and world number 99 Sorana Cristea in a fast 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Belarusian player and world number 4 in women's division Victoria Azarenka also advances to the next round after beating the 31st seed Italian Roberta Vinci in a 6-3 and 6-3 win.

This year's French Open may not be as surprising as before, at least in the men's division, because for the first time in Open era, the top 3 seeds lost before 16th round. The loss of the first three seeds gave Maria Sharapova a good chance to complete her collection of Grand Slam titles (with only Rolland Garros cup missing). But it won't be a walk in the park for MaSha though, as the Russian will face the hard-hitting player from Poland Agnieszka Radwanska who's ranked 12 in their division in Monday's fourth round match-up.

Mens Single

In men's single division, Novak Djokovic continues his winning streak to 41 after beating ranked 29 Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro in the third round with four sets 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-2. Nole with then face French 16th seed Richard Gasquet in the next round.

Rafael Nadal on the other hand, also advances to the fourth round after beating ranked 217 Antonio Veic of Croatia in 3 straight sets in an impressive and dominant fashion 6-1 6-2 6-0.

The surprising twist this year was in the match between Croatian and ranked 36 Ivan Ljubicic and Spanish Fernando Verdasco who ranked 17 in the world today. The surprising match ended with a straight set of 6-3 7-6 6-4, giving Ljubicic a ticket to face Nadal in the next round.

Fourth round of French Open 2011 will be one of Sunday's best on Monday, as Frenchman and ranked 9 Gael Monfils took the win with straight three sets against David Ferrer before night fell over Paris, forcing Ferrer to resume their match second in Court Suzanne Lenglen on Monday for the spot in the quarterfinals.

The Swiss number 5 Robin Soderling, has been pretty dominant in his last games in French Open, but he will be put to the test the moment he step inside the court with the hometown favorite and 18th seed Gilles Simon. Soderling played in the past couple of French Open finals. He lost to world's number 1 Rafael Nadal last year, a year later after sending the Spanish to his first loss at French Open. If both Nadal and Soderling win their respective games on Monday, they will most likely play against each other in a blockbuster Wednesday quarter finals.

Compared to other games on Monday, 8seed Petra Kvitova of Czech and China's 7th seed Li Na will definitely fly under the radar. My bet for this match (which also many of online sports betting site bet) is Li Na. Li Na has the momentum advantage after bagging the 2011 Australian Open title.

The Chinese tennis superstar has been playing steady game and has been a model of efficiency thorughout this year's French Cup. Kvitova on the other hand, is also playing good tennis, as she merges power and efficient serving in her game, making match-closing an advantage for her.

Huge Chances For Federer's Tennis Sports Betting Fans In 2011 French Open

Federer Eases past Lopez to set-up second-round clash with Teixeira at Roland Garros, giving his tennis sports betting fans chances of winning all the way.

Former number one and now world number 3 Roger Federer, took his place in the second-round in 2011 French Open after following a potentially-tricky-first round tie against Spanish Feliciano Lopez in classy style, beating Lopez in straight sets. Federer will then face French wild card Maxime Teixeira in the second-round.

Federer has not been in his best shape on clay court this season, unable to reach the finals for the past clay tournaments, though he looked very confident in Court Philippe Chatrier as he finished a 6-2 6-4 7-6 (7/3) victory.

Bookmakers online
favorite and now world number 2 Novak Djokovic also had an impressive victory against Dutch tennis player Thiemo De Bakker before Fed's match, a match which took a while to get going. Federer on the other hand, already broke for the first time in the eight game, and from its first set, everybody know it's all over. Federer was serving well in that match, not allowing Lopez to get a single break point. He continued to perform just enough with one break at 2-2 in set two.

The third set was tight up until the tie-break, where Lopez made a couple of unforced errors to give Federer a comfortable lead. Since then, Federer never looked back, relinquishing the third seed and clinched the victory with style with 12th ace.

Sports Book Betting – Will Caron Butler Return For The Mavs?

The Oklahoma City Thunders tied their series against Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Western conference finals 2010-2011 with 106-100 win, but the Mavs are still favored in most sports book betting and basketball gambling sites.

Guard/Small Forward Caron Butler has been out for some time, specifically the first of the year. The Dallas however, performed well despite of his absence, earning some buzz in basketball wagering odds and online sports betting sites. But there's no question that Dallas is missing a lot of his aggressive-moves and scoring, which can really help lift the team at the backcourt positions and stop the fast and athletic guards of OKC.

Butler's Rehabilitation Process Energizes Mavs

Rick Carlisle (Dallas Mavs headcoach) spilled some details about the ambitious rehab Butler is going through, which energizes the team. Mavs clearly didn't thought of having Butler late in the post season, but there's a light with that hope now. Butler worked hard in his rehab, and it is highly possible he could play in the Western Conference finals against the OKC.

Caron Butler hurt his right knee, particularly the patellar tendon early in January this year, and had surgery few days after the incident. Since then, Butler is making dramatic progress, as he has already been dunking the ball in some of their practices. The last step to get Butler to the hardcourt is to clear him for physical contact, and that can happen very soon. Mavericks says Butler have been working out two to three times a day and his persepctive in his situation truly made a huge impact to the entire team. He has been working in practice with Dallas assistant coaches, but will really need some work to clear him out for big competition in Western Conference finals. But if he does return soon, expect the sports odds from bookmakers online to highly favor the Mavs.

5 things Sports Betting Fans Should Look For In French Open 2011

Tennis's second Grand Slam even for 2011 will kick of this Sunday, May 22 in Paris, France. This tournament has always been an interesting event for tennis fans and sports betting site fans, as it is the only major event played on clay.

French Open or Roland Garros cup, has been lately dominated by young running players, and it is the young Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who maneuvered his success to get at the top of the world ranking, passing the former number one and now ranked third, Roger Federer. This year's tournament has a whole new sets of interesting stories as former number one Andy Roddick and now ranked eleventh can't play due to nagging shoulder injury he suffered last April. Also, Juan Martin del Potro adds up to the excitement as he confirms his participation after healing his injured hip at Estril month. Here are my other five interesting stories tennis fans and bookmakers online fans should look at this 2011th Roland Garros cup.

1.Can Rafa bag his sixth French Open title?

Nadal, as the world's number one, is also hailed as the King of Clay, making him a tough nut to crack in clay court in this tournament. But, can he get his sixth French Open title and tie Bjorn Borg's record? The serious threat behind Nadal's run in this tournament is obviously the ranked second in the worl, Novak Djokovic. Rafa and Nole has already played three times in Paris, and Nadal hasn't lose a set in any of those matches against Nole. Rafa's 39 overall matches in French Open, dropped only one match. Nadal now has nine titles, while Djokovic has two, both coming at the Australian Open.

Where to bet? In my opinion, Nadal has a big advantage in clay court because of his playing style. I'm expecting Rafa to dominate in this tournament and bag his sixth French Open title.

2.Can Novak Djokovic impose serious threat to Rafael Nadal's run in this tournament?

Djokovic is on an excellent streak coming to this year's clay Grand Slam, but can it carry through him to advance to a couple of weeks? He's gone 37-0 since 2010, winning all seven tournaments he participated in. But there's certainly a reason why he's got only two career grand slam titles yet. Will the bright lights in Paris pressure Nole? Or will he take his winning streaks and weather the storm all the way to victory? It's only a matter of time for us to find out.

3.Can the former number one regain his confidence and form at the Roland Garros 2011?

Can the former number one get back on the grand slam-winning track and start his run in the French Open 2011? Roger is not on a good start this year, as he has 28-7 record entering this year's clay grand slam. But the fact of the matter is that, he is Roger Federer, who won a title in this tournament before and reached the finals three more times. He can win anywhere anytime he wants. But we all know he has to finish match fast, as long rallies on clay is not really his genre.

4.Can MaSha complete her career Grand Slam?

Maria Sharapova is ranked seventh right now is looking to complete her Grand Slam title collection. After performing under the radar last year, MaSha had an impressive performance in Italian Open, and has good momentum entering this year's Roland Garros cup in Paris. World number two Kim Clijster says she's ready to play, but she just suffered an ankle injury. Also, the world's number one in women's division Caroline Wozniacki have limited Grand Slam finals experience. Considering these factors, Sharapova will surely make a good run in this tournament after all.

5.Will world number one Caroline Wozniacki bag her first Grand Slam title?

Wozniacki has been playing great tennis since 2010, but she is still yet to win her first big title. Could this tournament be her first? Well, maybe if she beats Sharapova in an impressive fashion.

There will surely be lots of twists and turns in this year's Rolland Garros cup, or will we see another fairy tale ending? This is, without a doubt, an exciting event for tennis online betting fans.

Former Number Andy Roddick's Absence in French Open 2011

The former US Open champ and the man everyone don't want to play against, Juan Martin Del Potro, recently just announced tonight via twitter he will be playing in the French Open 2011, truly a good news for all internet sports betting fans.

Del Potro's participation for the 2011 French Open rose lots of questions, as this 22-year-old tennis prodigy injured his hip at Estoril month. He was forced to retire from the match in Madrid with Rafael Nadal, and later withdrew from the tournament in Rome to return home for thorough evaluation. Fortunately, for this ranked 27th Argentine player, he is fit to compete.
Del Potro was a serious competitor in French Open 2009 when he reached semifinals, pushing the event's champion, Roger Federer to five sets. DePo is set to face a top 8 player in the third round of the tournament.

In the women's division, Kim Clijster on the other hand, is also set to get back on clay after she confirms her ankle has fully healed to play in Paris. Ironically, Kim hurt her ankle not in court, but in a wedding party in early April, and she also has not played French Open since 2006. She had won the last two Grand Slam title, the Australian Open last January and the US Open last fall.

The hope for Andy Roddick on the other hand, is still in doubt. The 11th seed American badly hurt his shoulder en route to the doubles final in Rome lastweek, and was not ready for Nice to pull his withdrawal. Andy lost in his last four matches, and his nagging shoulder injury put his Wimbledon run in question.

“Obviously the situation is not perfect for Roland Garros,” Roddick said in an interview. “I still have a couple of days for something to get better. He added.

Unmistakably, there will be really no hopes for this former number one to play in clay, and his loyal sportsbook betting loyal fans, as Wimbledon is just around the corner shortly after the French Open.

UNLV Basketball Forward Chace Stanback Busted For DUI

Different summer and different legal woe facing the UNLV Men’s Basketball team, and another problem for UNLV Rebels college basketball online betting fans. The UCLA transfer and now UNLV's top returning player Chace Stanback, who leads all returning players in scoring and rebounding, was pulled over for over speeding near his off-campus residence last Friday, and later arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence charges.

This incident looks like just another problem for the UNLV Men's basketball team, as last summer Tre'von Willis faced charges after allegedly taking a woman's mobile phone so she could not call for help after she was assaulted and choked.

The attention of college sports book betting fans, UNLV fans and media is now on UNLV head coach Dave Rice, and his disciplinary actions he might bequeath to their forward Chace Stanback.
It was in 2008 when a local Las Vegas talent and UNLV then-sophomore guard Marcus Lawrence was ditched from the team by former team coach Lon Kruger after he was arrested from DUI charges. His case was a little more severe though, as he wrecked his car far from the campus and ran away from the scene.

While the penalty for Stanback will not be as severe as Lawrence, the Rebel faithful are now left to put their heads together on what will happen to their best returning players. The penalty handed down to Willis faced a lot of scrutiny when he was suspended for only 4 games, but joined the team's 2 exhibition games.

Now, the same fans are waiting to see what coach Rice will do to his returning player. While I expect Stanback to be suspended for a minimum of 2 games and maybe a maximum of 5.

The UNLV Rebels the whole summer to work through this dilemma, and anticipate his August 11th court date. I'm hoping this is just a minor bump on the road for the Rebels, as I know they will make a good run this season.

Good Days For Tennis And Online Sports Betting As French Open Kicks Off

French Open is just around the corner, as well as the online sports betting for tennis. Roger Federer, world's former number one, who hasn't had a great year, is looking to bag another Grand Slam title. Some tennis fans and loyal online tennis sports betting fans, is giving Federer a small chance, while some just don't think he can live-up with this year's clay challenge. I have been reading some articles and blogs lately on Roger's chance for this year's French Open, and here some things I've gathered for the Swiss tennis superstar:

Aside from Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, there aren't too much major contenders in this year's tournament, which can be quite easy for online betting sports fans to sort their wages out. For the past months, people have been talking about Andy Roddick and Andy Murray, that they are not in their best shape to compete with Federer. Clay court is Juan Martin Del Potro's worst surface, because of the playing court's slow speed and longer points, which DelPo of course, will not be able to handle because of his nagging wrist injury problem. Robin Soderling's best clay run was in 2009, but in the final round of that tournament, Soderling could not take a set. Fernando Verdasco on the other hand, hasn't been ablt to cope with Roger's game for quite some time. Other like Mikhail Youzhny, Gael Monfils, and Nikolay Davydenko don't stand big chances against Federer either.

Roger Federer is not getting any younger, and his game is a half-step slower nowadays. Longer rallies on clay surface will tire him up, and with nagging injuries, the weaknesses of his game will surely show up. If he really wants to get this one, he has to try harder and finish rallies a bit quicker.

Roger knows how and what it is like to win the French Open. He beat Robin Soderling in the finals and won the cup in 2009. Hopefully, that experience should give him the confidence to do it again this year.

Rafael Nadal, the world number one, has had a good campaign this year. With only five losses this year, he's looking to add the tenth Grand Slam title in his collection of nine. French Open is not just another chance of Grand Slam for Nadal, it is his favorite tournament in the Grand Slam series, and he's already won five times. He's even called the King Of Clay, and beaten Federer in the finals twice.

Going undefeated for his past 30 matches, Djokovic is having a good year this year, and certainly grabbing some attention in online betting sites. With six titles under his name, Djokovic is looking to grab his third Grand Slam title. Djokovic will bring some good competition in this tournament. As a matter of fact, he once beat Nadal for three sets on clay. Nadal and Djokovic certainly pose the biggest threats for Federer's campaign in French Open this year.

With all these things considered, my conclusion is that, Federer is capable of beating anyone in this tournament, except Rafa and Nole. And I think it is pretty much sure for Roger to get into the semis, where Nadal will beat him.
Nadal and Djokovic will resume their rivalry in the finals of this year's French Open. They had an unfinished business in the final Sunday of Italian Open. Rafael was the first seed and Djokovic had the second. Overcame a very tough first set against French tennis star Richard Gasquet, Nadal won five times of the last six years on Saturday, rolling for a 7-5, 6-1 semifinal win. Djokovic was pushed to his limits as he extend his unbeaten winning streak for 38 matches, beating the fourth-ranked Andy Murray for a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (2) victory.

Fix Matching Issues In India Cricket Betting

India's success in 2011 World Cup delighted not just the entire cricket-mad nation but most especially the cricket online betting sites. But we all know that their victory was not exactly an option for the India cricket team, as their countrymen expected them to win and to blow away the obvious disadvantage of playing on home soil. As we all know, no team had ever won the championship in their own country. Then, 28 years of trophy hunger was finally answered. However, the new match fixing allegations threaten to blemish India's success. Not to mention the negative publicity from the Pakistani's match fixing, these issues comes at a very bad time.

Sports Illustrated India casts their doubts upon their team's success, as the ugly display of match fixing backs its head.

Anyone who says that the issue of match fixing is over when the heavy bans dished out to fast bowlers Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Amir and former Pakistan captain Salman Butt is a naïve fool. Until today, none of these allegations seemed to cobble up. We all know the story of wicketkeeper Zulquarnain Haider, but for the benefit of those who don't know here's what happened to him. He reportedly flee from the tournament in Sharjah and seeked refuge in England, saying that his life had been threatened by some sportsbook after refusing to fix matches, yet Mr. Haider provided no evidence to support his story, ending him up in Pakistan few months after the incident. Haider is not the only one who seeked refuge from those said sportsbook that threatened the life of the players, as Sri Lankan captain Hashan Tillakaratne allegedly suffered the same situation after a few months too. Yet, like Haider, Tillakaratne presented no evidence to support his story too.

Each season and each year, more and more players confess their worries about these bodies that tries to fix matches and threatens their lives. But like any other incidents, they too can't present hard evidences. Sad to say, this article itself is frustratingly ambiguos and vague, as no names can be mentioned behind the said allegations. But one thing is for sure, there really are some big Indian politicians out there who can give us the answers we want, after admitting to betting in the India-Pakistan semi-final match-up.As we all know, betting is illegal in India.

The phrase that will loathe the India team is that, there are bookmakers who admits the participation of two players in the side who were eager to fix game throughout the duration of the tournament. These players were warned off when the Cricket controlling body in India (BCCI) got wind of it. The assumption is that, it was in the semi-finals of the tournament where players were tempted to be cprrupted with the high stakes bookmakers offered to put their national team's honor and prestige behind for their personal gain.

Another World Cup match-up that falls under the suspicion of game fixing was the game of West Indies. India played a full strength side in that game. The West Indians on the other hand, strangely left out opening batsman and their fsat bowler Kemar Roach and former team captain Chris Gayle. Gayle is one of the most effectively destructive bastmen in that particular game, but just hit two centuries in first three appearances for the Bangalore's Royal Challengers in India premiere League. Roach throughout that tournament, had been their team's best bowler.

Whoever won the game would be facing Australia, the defending World Champions in the quarter-finals, and this match-up can really make a huge buzz in online sports betting websites. Losers will have an easier game, as they will face Pakistan. Choosing a weakend side hoping for possible tie next time out is a century-old trick. The score here, accorind to Sports Illustrated, is that bookmakers knew that West Indian Team before any of the public and press did, thus makin a good killing on game's results.

Real cricket fans would love to see clean and corruption free games. Cricket fans and loyal cricket online betting patronizers deserve better.

How Good Is Dirk Nowitzki For Sports Book Betting

The Dallas Mavericks seems to be in the spotlight in most sports book betting sites now, and we can safely say one player had carried this team for the past decade.

Many say Dallas Mavericks All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki is in what should be that “twilight” of his NBA career, but that's just if you base it solely in his years of service as a franchise player in his team.

Rick Pitino, Boston Celtics head coach from 1997 – 2001 once compared Nowitzki to Celtic's legend Larry Bird after 45 minutes of private workout where Dirk showcased his versatile shooting, passing and rebounding skills.

Dirk entered the NBA in 1998 as a 9th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks, he was then traded with Dallas Maverick's 6th pick Robert Tryalor of that same draft. Dirk then joined the captain shooting guard Michael Finley and 7'6 foot center Shawn Bradley in Mevericks whose last playoff appearance was in 1990. Nowitzki had a rough start in his first games of his career in NBA prior to 1998-99 NBA season. Standing 7 foot tall, the lanky 20-year old Dirk played as a power forward for the Mavs. But his size and shooting finesse didn't bother the athletic and muscular forwads and big men of the NBA, causing him to struggle in his shooting and being pounded in the paint by muscular big men. In his first season, Dirk only averaged 8.2 points and 3.4 rebounds for 20.4 playing time per game. Dirk was so frustrated and even admitted that he once contemplated in going back to Germany. The Mavs in that season only won 19 games of that season's 50 games schedule.

But that was all history now, as Dallas swept the defending champs in their second round in the playoffs of 2010-2011 season. Dirk looks like he's undergoing a career rejuvenation, of some sort from his 13 years in the NBA. With his athletecism, blocking, rebounding and unstippable one arm one leg elbow jumper and high-arching three point shooting, Dirk opens the debate as one of the best big men in the history of the NBA. Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle even categorized Nowitzki as one of his top 10 of all time list.

From ESPN Dallas.com:
“In my opinion, he’s a top 10 player in NBA history because of the uniqueness of his game and how he’s carried this franchise on his back for over a decade,” Carlisle told “ESPN First Take” on Monday. “He’s just right. He’s leading the team. His shot-making is great. He’s passing the ball great. He’s one of the guys that’s directing traffic for us defensively.”
Sure, Nowitzki has been the league MVP (2006-07), and he’s been the one constant on the floor during the Mavericks’ run of 11 consecutive 50-win seasons. Only the Bill Russell-led Boston Celtics (1959-1968), the Magic Johnson-led Lakers (1980-91) and the Tim Duncan-led San Antonio Spurs (2000-present) have had comparable runs.
Those teams, however, won championships. Dirk has yet to win an NBA title, making his only Finals appearance in 2006 when the Mavericks lost to the Miami Heat in six games.
“He’s got one thing missing from the mantle and that drives him,” Mavs president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson told ESPN 103.3 FM on Monday morning. “We’ve maybe been spoiled by how good he is.”

We've all been indulged by Nowitzki's brilliance in the hardcourt. I mean, He has been the centerpiece of a playoff caliber team for roughly the past decade. How many players have single handedly taken his team to 11 consecutive 50 win seasons? Kobe had Shaq, Lamar, Fisher, Gasol. Jordan had Pipen. Ducan has Ginobli, and Parker. Who has Dirk had throughout the years? Players have come, and players have gone in Dallas. But the level of play has remained the same. Dirk continues to put up huge numbers, especially in the playoffs. Now that he has Kidd, Terry, Chandler and Barea, I can't see the Mavericks team not getting attention in basketball online betting and not heading for the finals this season.

He may still not have the Championship ring yet, but he's surely heading to the Hall of Fame some day.

Football Half-Time Handicapping For Online Sports Betting

You spend overnight thinking the advantage of your team against their match-up for game you choose to bet on in online sports betting. You weigh your options and your instinct is telling you that your New England Patriots will win 3 or more points against Green Bay Packers.

You spend an hour of reading and studying stat by stat, key player by key player, and injury by injury in online sportsbook reviews and predictions, and your preferred betting site is giving you a tempting -3 + 105, but your options faced against you when you checked out the Almanac. Now your bookmaker is asking you to give-up a -3.5 at -110 for a play play on the heads. If you don't have access for bookers who offer -3, you will surely end up in either going for it or just let the oppurtunity pass.

Most of us are really action junkies. We want excitement and we want to risk big for a possibility of bigger earn. Many online sports betting patronizers risj extra half point, even if it would eat their bank roll away.

Handicapping an NFL match-up and formulating opinion are just part of the game. Every wise bettor knows that type of line shopping, and more particularly, the line movement for the success of their bets. Understanding and following the course of the changing odds gives a huge advantage beyong the long gain. A football bettor may read the lines for the whole week in order to guage his options and make a good strike in his betting lines, but still end up in or out of his favor.

If you are not into waging-for-a-living and just consider sports betting sites as good places for your gambline past-time, then half-time bet is good for you.

In betting at the half-time, the firt things you should understand is the importance of understanding the line movement to make a good halftime bets.

The Line Movement

The odds presented by games at the half offers you a fresh line to follow until it comes off the board. Betting at the2nd half of the game gives you a hint where the line is heading and leap on the availble offers that suits your play. Expert gamblers can actually use this technique in just 5 minutes of studying the half-time report of the game.

The Soft Lines

This one stray from the general agreement. Bookmakers, especially online bookmakers have only have little time to give their betting options at the half, and usually will avert from the pack to take their desired bets. Other bookies on the other hand, will continually be the ones to slide their numbers which offers good value when it's changed against you at the sportsbook.

In setting the odds for full game betting, bookmakers will always take a peek at each other's offers. Many bookmakers will base their odds on what their neighboring bookmakers offers, so will brand out and make some more deals from there.

However, during half-time, there will be a very little time for them to speak and consult each other. 1 out of 5 book opinions will most likely differ from the rest. The line adjusts as fast as people bet on it, but these initial soft lines offers sporadic shots for extra 2 points you may not see offerred during commercial breaks or intermissions.

The Advantage Of Half-Time Line

Let's assume you're into NBA betting, and you prefer NBA total set at 190. Before the tip-off, you were able to follow the line movement, and even earn 3 points for your bet. As the game goes on, the big line moves occur, and also occur ath the second half odds. Even if you bet at the actual game, that doesn't always mean you will also get the movement of the line at the half. Having extra 3 points at 190 is a good find, but getting 3 points right on the second half over/under total 95 provides better advantage for your bet. This is because you are actually going for the larger percentafe of the line, which is a good head start in a race. This is like using a 25-foot head start in a hundred meter dash than in a marathon.

A Balanced Playing Field

Many online sports betting gamblers don't want to try half-time betting, as they think quick betting will not give you amlpe time to study the game and weigh your options. Well, if you really think of it, online bookies have already set the information on the table.
During half-time breaks, players will listen to their coaches for their gameplan. Linesmen are often demanded to give odds in many mid-game case at the same time. They would more likely see ther game as you see it in your television screen, thus a week worth or research and study will no longer come into play. The line will be based on the first 24 minutes of the game.

And Your Best Bet

Half-time betting is really an exciting way to wage some money on, but I don't think this is for everyone. If you're a type of gambler that doesn't want to read bulk of numbers and results at once, then this type of betting is not for you. If you want to know how to study the life of line, take advantage in more unique or soft numbers offered by your bookies. Put your effort to little contest and know more than your bookmaker, then your second half may just be your best bet.

Basics Of Soccer Online Betting

Like predicting who would win in a match-up by the players, playing conditions and experience of a team, understanding the basics of soccer online betting is not that hard to pick-up. Anyone can learn the basics of betting in soccer and make money out of it.

With millions, if not billions of fans all over the world, soccer is the most popular sport for betting. soccer fans put on their support and money for their team in online betting sites not just for pride and bragging rights, but more importantly for winning some cash.

Most online bookmaker site have their own how-to guides to help their bettors, especially those who are new into it. They also give odds and predictions for preference. This of course, makes understand soccer betting basics very easy.

First and foremost, you should find your online bookmaker with which to do your betting game. Of course you should choose the site that caters betting for your preferred sport. You can search in Google for the list of highly recommended online bookmaker sites. Personally, I join with Australian bookmakers online because of its reputation and high customer satisfaction.

The Basics

Once you arrive in your preferred site, you can now start the your way in understanding the basics of betting.

The basics of soccer online betting lies simply in the fixed odds presentation of a market. For example, the market is in for Chelsea versus West Brom match, the online bookmaker you are in will give you the fixed odds for the game, which are usually based only in probability. Example of the odds for the match-up will look like Chelsea ¼, Draw 4/6, West Brom 6/1. So what can you get from this?

The odd says that Chelsea is the outright favorite of the match, as bookmakers put them at the smallest odds (less risk, less return). With this, you can have your fabricated £10 in your palm. You can put this money on the favorite (Chelsea) in bring £2.50 (plus stake return) in your pockets, or you can bet for the underdog to win £60 (plus stake return) if they win. The fun of the soccer betting lies on where you take risk, will you play the role of the banker and get the high percentage win? Or will you play with other options and win more by beating the banker. After all, soccer like most ball sports, have its twist and turns and surprising endings.

Reading the odds for the match-up is crucial in every betting game. From the example above, bookmakers can make other options that can give higher stakes, rewards and excitement for their bettors. Looking at our example, we can say that betting on Chealsea means risking huge amount of money for a small return. However, the bigger the risk is supporting their opponents and losing your stake. Now, is a little earn better than nothing?

I say yes, but for you to improve your chances of winning, you should explore the sub markets present in a match with your bookmaker.

When you get into the market match you want to wage your money on, you will automatically see options to click for your further bets, and from there you can find a pile of exciting soccer betting chances. This is where you can put the basics of soccer betting a step higher, as you can definitely find markets like First, Last or Anytime Goalscorer; Winning Margin, Correct Score, Scorecasts (means 1st Goalscorer plus right score); Over/Under Goals (where you wage on whether the match will go over or under the number of goals in it, which is mainly 2.5); draw No Bet (where you bet on a team to win, but get your money back if the match is tied; Asian Handicap betting, Total corners, etc. There are lots of options for you out there. These options may take some time on exploring, and when your bookmaker offer you cash back promos on particular matches, which is usually more often than not, Correct Score, Goal Score and Scorecast bets are included.

When you're new into this, I suggest that you should start with small individual fixed odds betting, and take a step higher from there once you feel comfortable. Explore your accumulators, submarkets and all the treasure that your online bookmaker holds.

Grizzlies +6.5 in Sports Book Betting Over Thunder

Sports book betting fans and the favored Oklahoma City Thunder was caught off-guard to Memphis Grizzlies' performance in their first game against each other in the second round of the NBA 2010-2011 playoffs.

Memphis held OKC to 101 as they scored 114 at the end of the game. But the momentum switched at the second game when Kevin Durant scored 33 points along with 11 rebounds and Russell Westbrook had a solid offensive night with his 29 points and 6 assists.

Grizzlies will really need a lot of help from their big guys like Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol to keep their team in the series with OKC, as we all know how deep Thunder's bench is. But that doesn't seem to be a big problem considering the lacking front court OKC has right now. The Gasol and Randolph (Gandolph) combo combined to an unbelievable 54 points and 23 boards, which somehow offsets the Oklahoma's one two punch combo of Westbrook and Durant who score a combined 62 points.

Games in the playoffs really comes down to the supporting casts, OKC has a lot of those, but the thing about their front court – Perkins and Ibaka is that, Randolph and Gasol are wearing them down and their back-ups are not enough to support and hold their domination of the paint and boards.

OKC only got 2-4-1 Against The Spread in their last 7 games, and Memphis is valuing 7-0-1 Against The Spread in their last 8 games overall. Memphis frontcourt wise, is simply too big to handle for the OKC, not mentioning that Grizzlies is not getting any help from its star player Rudy Gay because of injury. Memphis is really the team sports book betting fans can rely on in NBA 2010-2011 playoff predictions as they gathered 7-15-11 against the spread record in their last 23 visits to the Thunders.

Though the Thunder got the win against the Grizzlies in the second game of their playoff matchup, it is evident that they don't get that much production from their big men, as Perkins only got 2 points and Collison contributed for only 5 points. Ibaka though had a solid game with 16 points and 11 boards. The size of Grizzlies' frontcourt really matters in the game as Randolph scored 34 points and M.Gasol scored 20.

Through-out the series, I expect the Memphis to pound more for inside points against the OKC. Their 3-1 record against OKC in the regular games of the season just shows that none of the wins of their wins over Thunder came from luck, as their big guys just dominate the paint all game long. Shane Battier and Tony Allen are better perimeter defenders, which can help contain other shooters of OKC throughout the series. Underrated backcourt players of Grizzlies such as Darrell Arthur, Greivis Vasquez, and Mike Conley will be a factor all series long, and former start O.J. Mayo will surely show more of his arsenal in the next games. This is why I'm giving Grizzlies a+6.5 in sports book betting over Thunder.
